Allan R. Freelon, Sr., Tissue Ink Monoprint & Photographic Print, 12"x20", 2008
FREE, a solo exhibition by Maya Freelon Asante, opens with an artist reception. Through a process called “Tissue Ink Monoprint,” Freelon Asante transforms scraps of tissue paper left in her studio into objects of permanence and reflection. The tissue is reworked, photographs or other ephemera are collaged, and each piece becomes representative of a steadfast and permanent history.
The exhibit will be on display through March 27, 2009.
