The Bell Tower Development Project has disrupted parking in the Bell Tower parking lot; no parking is available in this lot. Therefore, new parking arrangements are now in effect for those visiting the Stone Center.

The project is expected to continue through winter 2011. For more information and updates, please visit the Facilities Planning & Construction website.

To enter the Stone Center building, pedestrians and visitors will need to follow the detour signs that lead to the entrance.

Listed below are the best parking options for those who plan to visit or attend Stone Center programs:

FedEx Global Education Center

This parking deck is located underneath the FedEx Global Education Center building and is available after 5 p.m. There is no charge but the deck is very small and fills up rather quickly. The FedEx Global Education Center is located off Pittsboro St. and McCauley Streets.  To get to the Stone Center, exit the parking deck and start walking away from the Global Education Center; toward South Rd. Cross the intersection of South Rd and Columbia St. Walk about 100 feet and look for Bell Tower Dr. Turn right and start walking down Bell Tower. Construction signs and a blue outlined fence mark the entrance of the Stone Center on your left. Follow the detour signs that lead to the Stone Center building entrance.

Cobb Parking Deck

The Cobb Deck is available after 5 p.m. There is no charge and visitors may enter the parking deck from Raleigh Rd., across from the ATM machines or from Country Club Rd. next to the Center for Dramatic Arts. To get to the Stone Center, exit the deck at Raleigh Rd. Turn left to start walking down Raleigh Rd. toward the Frank Porter Graham Student Union. Raleigh Rd. ends at the intersection of South Rd. Turn right to start walking down South Rd., passing the Student Union. Cross the street at the pedestrian crossing in front of the Student Store; continue to walk down South Rd. passing Stadium Drive and the Bell Tower. Look for Bell Tower Dr. Start walking down Bell Tower Dr. Construction signs and a blue outlined fence mark the entrance of the Stone Center on your left. Follow the detour signs that lead to the Stone Center building entrance.

Rams Head Parking Deck

The Rams Head deck is a pay deck, costing $1.25/hour. Entry is from Ridge Road at the gates specifically marked for entry. Upon entering, pull a ticket from the automated machine. You will pay upon exit. Cash, debit and credit cards are accepted. Take the elevator or stairway to the top level and exit by turning right. Walk down brick path past Kenan Stadium on your left until you reach Stadium Drive. Take sidewalk down Stadium Drive, swing left at the intersection of South Rd and Stadium Dr. to start walking down South Rd., passing the Bell Tower on your left. Look for Bell Tower Dr. Start walking down Bell Tower Dr. Construction signs and a blue outlined fence mark the entrance of the Stone Center on your left. Follow the detour signs that lead to Stone Center building entrance.
